Breaks
In
Cornwall, endless summers drift imperceptibly into autumn,
spring arrives early, and winters are mild. An out of season
break is the time to enjoy the real Cornwall - spectacular
scenary, unspoilt countryside, pubs with log fires, historic
houses and gardens, and coastal walks all to yourself. We
aim to make your hard earned break a real treat, in a cosy
cottage with a cream tea on arrival, a log fire to come home
to, and a Rayburn in the kitchen. We can give you the inside
track on whats on and where to go, to make your holiday a
real treat.
Autumn
Clear, crisp autumn days are perfect for walking, and browsing
the lanes of quaint towns and villages. The leaves turn gold
and red, making the steep sided wooded valleys a picture.
And after a bracing day in the fresh air, the log fire in
Cob Barn, or a local pub or restaurant is especially welcoming.
Winter
The crowds have come and gone, and you will have the beaches
and footpaths all to yourselves. Cornwall is still open for
business however, gone are the days when many shops shut up
and turned way customers. In fact, New Year is now one of
the busiest times in Cornwall so book well ahead. Typically
much milder that the rest of Britain, Cornwall can offer a
welcome respite from winter's icy grip. The winter storms
are spectacular on the coast, and you will learn there is
no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!
Spring
Spring is special in Cornwall, and comes early, so don't miss
it. The first daffodils will be out in January, and by February
the hedgrows and clifftops are filling with spring flowers.
The great gardens of Cornwall are famous for the camellias,
azaleas, magnolias and rhododendrons that past generations
of plant collectors brought back to Cornwall, to thrive in
the mild climate. By March and April, spring lambs are in
the fields, the grass grows green in the fields, and May brings
drifts of bluebells in Cornish woodlands. Before you know
it another summer is on the horizon.
